In late January, a Gwinnett County Police Officer was attempting to pass another vehicle when he, apparently, lost control of his patrol car, jumped a curb and hit two teenagers. These teens were pedestrians walking along the sidewalk.
I recently authored another article focusing on pedestrian deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents and how well over 100 pedestrians died in Georgia alone in 2015 after unfortunate encounters with cars. THIS TIME, the victims survived the collision, but not without one sustaining some serious injuries that required hospitalization. It appears he will live, but not everyone is as lucky.
In a battle with a motor vehicle, pedestrians are guaranteed to lose 100% of the time. That being said, if you're a pedestrian who's been injured by a motor vehicle, you should absolutely consult an attorney. While the scales are tipped against pedestrians in car accidents, the odds are far better when you become a plaintiff in a personal injury lawsuit against the driver who hurt you.
